Cumulative Volume Delta [AlgoPrime]

What it does

Cumulative Volume Delta adds a volume perspective to price structure by accumulating the difference between up and down volume from lower-timeframe data. Its area and candle displays make it easier to compare directional participation with price highs and lows. Selectable calculation intervals and reset periods let you organize the reading around the sessions or windows used in your analysis.

How to Trade with Cumulative Volume Delta?

  1. Price and CVD direction: compare rising or falling price with the direction of cumulative delta to assess whether the two are moving together.

  2. Divergence: a new price extreme without a matching CVD extreme is a reason to examine the move more closely, then seek confirmation in price.

  3. Reset boundaries: identify where a new accumulation period begins before comparing readings; a reset is not itself a sudden reversal in participation.

Cumulative Volume Delta Settings

  1. Cumulative volume timeframe: 1, 5, 15, 30, 60, or 240 minutes.

  2. Timeframe session break: 60, 240, D, or W.

  3. Plot candle: switch to delta candles.
